Until 2016, he worked as the deputy chairman of the board of Privatbank, the largest bank in Ukraine.
After the nationalization of Privatbank together with partners he founded Monobank.
In 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, together with a group of engineers from Dnipro, he established the serial production of modern Ukrainian combat drones "Dovbush" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Biography
Volodymyr Yatsenko was born on November 18, 1969 in Dniprodzerzhinsk (now Kamianske) of Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine.
He graduated from school in Kamianske and the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, majoring in "Management information systems and technologies".
Work in Privatbank, foundation of Monobank
In July 1992, he started working at Privatbank.
In 1998, he received the position of deputy chairman of the board. He was the head of the corporate VIP business department, responsible for the lending of large companies.
In December 2016, he resigned from Privatbank after its nationalization.
In January 2017, together with former Privatbank managers Oleksandr and Dmytro Dubilety, Oleh Horohovskyi, Mykhailo Rohalskyi, Lyudmyla Shmalchenko, and Vadym Kovalov, he founded the company Fintech Band, which became the developer of Monobank internet banking.
At the start, the bank won the "Best Ukrainian FinTech startup" nomination of the PaySpace Magazine Awards, and in 2018 — the main award in the "Neobank of the Year" category of the FinAwards.
In 2021, the number of Monobank customers reached 6 million.
As of April 2022, the bank ranked 3rd in Google Play and 4th in the App Store among Ukraine's most popular financial applications.
Modern Ukrainian UAV production
In 2022, with the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, together with a group of engineers from Dnipro, he established the production of modern Ukrainian combat drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The new Ukrainian UAV was named "Dovbush." It is a universal drone that can be modified for the desired combat task within an hour — from tactical (reconnaissance or strike drone) to operational (operation at long distances from the front line with the same functionality).
Unlike its Western analogs, "Dovbush" is much cheaper to manufacture and unreachable for enemy electronic warfare and air defense systems due to the latest software and components that do not leave a "thermal trail."
After testing and training military operators in the basics of aviation, all ready-made drones are handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine free of charge.
